Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)
Directed by Jonathon "Number One" Frakes, "Star Trek: Insurrection" has an opening sequence that rivals the best of any Sci-Fi/adventure films -- perhaps even "Star Wars." Of course, those not so intimately familiar with the crew members might not feel that way, but if you were among those who followed Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, Lt. Cmdr. Data, Geordi et al from day one, you'll be more in tune with what I'm saying. F. Murray Abraham also stars as a vengeful alien -- oops, am I being "human-centric" there? -- and does a great job; in fact, it's probably his best role since playing that tormented composer from "Amadeus." OK, probably exaggerating there, but go see "Insurrection." You'll be "engaged."
